The client

Hear Me London is a private audiology clinic in London: earwax removal, hearing tests and hearing aids. In 2025 and 2026 it ran clinics in Maida Vale, Golders Green and West Hampstead. They had a website, but patients arrived at random and nobody could say where one had found them.

The brief

Get new patients through the door for earwax removal and hearing aid consultations, and work out which ads and pages were doing it. Patient records and bookings stayed in the clinic's own Practice Better account, so the job was everything in front of that: the website, the hearing test, the tracking and the ads.

What we did

  • A hearing test that reports to the clinic: a first-party cookie carries a user ID into the online Phonak hearing test. Every completed test, report request and callback request is logged to a Google Sheet, and report and callback requests email the clinic straight away. We designed the follow-up for each result (good, fair or poor, one ear weaker, inconclusive) with Mark, the clinic's founder and one of its audiologists.
  • The website, in Webflow: a West Hampstead location page, service pages rewritten with the audiologist's own content (children and adults), and a QR redirect for flyers and window decals so they only needed printing once.
  • Booking tracking: Google Tag Manager with a server-side container (hosted with Stape), GA4 linked to Google Ads, and every Practice Better booking confirmation tagged, so each booking could be traced to the channel that sent it.
  • Content and listings: a blog and social plan run with a freelance writer from July 2025, at about two articles and six social posts a month, plus Google Business Profile and Bing Places listings.
  • Google Ads, by postcode: campaigns for West Hampstead and Golders Green went live in June 2025, once the clinic had marked its holiday dates. We cut out-of-area postcodes after the first two weeks, and added a postcode check to the enquiry forms so mis-targeted clicks didn't turn into wasted bookings.

What happened

  • GA4 tracked 378 online bookings in 15 months (June 2025 to August 2026), about 25 a month. Organic search brought 195 of them, referrals 83, paid search 47, direct 46, and seven came from other channels.
  • The first two weeks of ads brought 190 clicks, mostly local earwax removal, and by July 2025 Google Ads had brought in 10+ new customers.
  • Monthly bookings went from about 67 in June 2025 to 78 in July.
  • GA4 shows monthly visits up about 50%: roughly 480 a month before the ads (March to May 2025) against about 730 a month from June 2025 to August 2026.
  • The hearing test kept working as a lead source: 73 screener notifications in Q4 2025 and 63 in Q1 2026.

My business is so much more efficient now AND we're getting more patient bookings coming. Keep it coming!

Why it worked

  • Targeting that matched the clinic: postcodes, holiday dates and a preference for clinic visits over home visits all came from the people running the clinic.
  • Tracking set up early: GA4 linked to Google Ads in June 2025 and every booking, hearing test and callback request recorded, so we weren't guessing which pages and ads were drawing people in.
  • Alerts that reach a person: a hearing test lead landed in the clinic's inbox the moment it came in.
