What's your break-even ROAS?
Start with ad spend and ROAS. The ruler shows break-even from your margin, and what a strong return looks like.
- Our rule of thumb. Break-even is 1 ÷ margin. Strong means the profit left after ads at least matches what you spent on them.
ROAS, then the share of a customer's value it costs.
What break-even ROAS means
Break-even ROAS is 1 divided by your margin. At 50% margin, a 2x return leaves just enough profit to pay for the ads, and nothing over. Our rule of thumb for a strong return is 2 divided by margin, about 4x at 50%: the profit left after ads at least matches what you spent on them. Below break-even, every sale the ads bring in costs more than it makes.
