Can n8n handle complex multi-step marketing workflows, and how does it compare with Zapier?
Yes. We build multi-step workflows in n8n that branch on conditions, loop over lists, wait, run a bit of code and call any service with an API. Zapier can do multi-step work too, with paths, filters and delays, but it bills by task, so long workflows that run often get expensive. On an n8n server we run ourselves, you pay for the server, not the number of steps. Here's one of ours: a form comes in on this site, a switch routes it by form name, a row goes into a sheet, a person and an opportunity are created in the CRM, the team gets an alert, and any failure goes to a named person.
What a complex workflow looks like for us
A typical one starts with one webhook per site. A switch routes each submission by form name. One branch writes a row to a sheet, another creates the person and an opportunity in the CRM, and a third sends the alert. Each branch can fail on its own without stopping the others.
How n8n and Zapier differ on complex workflows
- Branching and loops: both can branch. n8n can also loop over lists and merge branches back together, which suits batches of records.
- Code: in n8n we can drop in a short piece of code when a ready-made step doesn't fit.
- Cost: Zapier charges by task (check its pricing page). On our own n8n server there's no charge per step, just the server and the time to look after it.
- Connectors: Zapier has ready-made connections to more small apps. n8n has hundreds, plus an HTTP step for anything with an API.
When we'd leave a Zapier setup alone
If you already run Zaps and they work, we'll read them first and tell you whether moving them is worth the time. We won't rebuild them for the sake of it.
Keeping it reliable
We keep each workflow small and named for its job, send errors to a person, and keep the workflow definitions in version control. It's part of our ongoing management service.

What is CRM and lead flow management?
A CRM is where your contacts and deals live. Lead flow is how an enquiry gets there: the form, the tracking behind it and the follow-up. We connect them so each lead arrives with its source attached and nothing disappears.
What’s included in your performance reporting?
Spend, leads or sales, and cost per result by channel, using data we've checked first. Reports sit in a Looker Studio dashboard you can open any time, and each one ends with what we'd push, fix or stop.
How do you ensure continuous optimisation of my marketing?
We review your ads, website and CRM data on a regular rhythm and pick the biggest fix. That might be a test, a creative refresh, a landing page change or a tracking repair.
How do you use Cursor for building marketing automation tools?
Our marketing automation runs in n8n. Cursor is the editor we build in, so it's where we write and review the code around it: small scripts, integrations and tools that connect your forms, sheets and CRM. A person checks everything before it goes live.
What is a marketing funnel and why does it matter?
A marketing funnel is the route someone takes from first seeing you to becoming a customer: an ad, a landing page, an enquiry, a follow-up, a sale. It matters because you can only fix where people drop out if you can see each step.
