Six things we plan for

WordPress holds a lot of your site in places you don't see. Most of the risk is in what the plugins were quietly doing.

  • Permalinks that don't match

WordPress lets you pick a structure such as day and name, month and name or post name, and a fresh install defaults to plain links like /?p=123. Categories and tags sit under /category/ and /tag/ by default. We read your live structure and build the redirects to match, instead of assuming.

  • Posts in several categories

When a post has more than one category and your permalinks use the category, only one shows in the URL, picked alphabetically. We check which URL each post actually used, because that's the one Google knows.

  • Content the export holds, and content it doesn't

The WordPress export file holds posts, pages, custom post types, comments, custom fields, categories, tags, custom taxonomies and users. It doesn't hold your theme, so layouts and anything a page builder drew get rebuilt in Webflow.

  • Imports that overwrite or duplicate

Webflow's CSV import can update existing items by Item ID, and Webflow recommends a backup before big imports. We import into a staging copy, check, then publish.

  • Forms that go nowhere

WordPress forms live in a plugin. In Webflow, each form's notifications are set up again from scratch. We rebuild each form, set who gets it, and send a test.

  • Plugins with no Webflow equivalent

Webflow has fewer add-ons than WordPress. We list every plugin on your site and match each to a Webflow feature, a small custom-code embed or 'not needed any more', before you agree to anything.

What you get

A site your team can edit without a plugin stack

In 2026 we replaced Ridgeway Kite's outdated WordPress site with a product-first Webflow site, with CMS collections, forms and a CMS guide so their team edits it themselves. Yours gets the same: hosting and the CMS in one place, and every old address still working.

  • Posts and pages moved

Exported from WordPress and imported into Webflow CMS collections, with categories, tags, authors and images, then checked against the live post.

  • Custom post types and fields mapped

Each custom post type becomes a Webflow collection, with its custom fields turned into collection fields.

  • A redirect map

Every WordPress URL, categories and tags included, mapped to its Webflow page and loaded as a CSV. Webflow supports CSV import and export for 301 redirects.

  • SEO titles and descriptions carried over

Page by page, from your SEO plugin's fields into Webflow's SEO settings.

  • Forms

Rebuilt in Webflow, with notifications going to the people who should get them and a test enquiry sent before launch. Submissions can be exported as a CSV.

  • Tracking

GA4, Google Ads and Meta rebuilt and checked, with a test enquiry before launch.

  • A staging site first

Webflow has a staging site, so changes are reviewed before they go live.

  • Less to look after

Hosting and the CMS are in one place, so there are no plugin updates to keep up with.

Connections

What we connect Webflow to

Webflow replaces the theme, the hosting and a pile of plugins. These are the tools it connects to, and what each wire carries.

Before you book

Who this is for

  • For you if

    • You want to stop updating WordPress, a theme and a stack of plugins.
    • Your team wants to edit text, images and CMS content without a developer.
    • You want your blog and service pages to keep their addresses and their rankings as far as a move allows.
  • Not for you if

    • You want to stay on WordPress. We only move sites off it, and we can suggest WordPress agencies instead.
    • You need pages built from your own data, or forms that go straight into your own systems. That's Astro, not Webflow, and we'll say so.
    • You run a large WooCommerce shop. That's Shopify.

What changes when you move

Both run content sites well. They differ in what you look after and how your content leaves.

How it works

What happens after you get in touch

  1. Short call

You tell us how many posts, custom post types and plugins you have, who edits the site, and what has become painful about WordPress.

  2. Export and plugin list

We take the WordPress export, crawl the live site for every permalink, category and tag address, and list every plugin.

  3. Write the plan

You get the collection structure, the plugin decisions, the redirect approach and a timeline in writing, before we start.

  4. Build on staging

We import into Webflow collections, rebuild forms and layouts, and check each page against the live WordPress post.

  5. Launch and watch

Redirects go live, the new sitemap goes to Google, and we check Search Console and your enquiries every day for two weeks.

Proof

Work we can show you

For Sector7 we rebuilt a 139-page site in Webflow on a staging copy, reviewed it page by page with their team, built a redirect map and gave them a CMS they edit themselves. The same steps apply to your WordPress site.

Sector7 moved off a PDF-heavy site on Bluehost, not off WordPress. Figures from the Sector7 case study.

Why choose Webflow over WordPress or other website builders?

Because your team can edit it and there's less to look after. Hosting and the CMS are in one place, pages don't depend on a stack of plugins, and there's a staging site to check changes before they go live.

It's also one of our two picks for anyone on WordPress: we don't build or maintain WordPress, so we'll move you to Webflow or Astro, whichever suits the site. Our website design and development service covers the move.

What are the benefits of Webflow's CMS for marketing teams?

Your team can change text, images and CMS content in Webflow's Editor without raising a ticket. You also get collections with your own fields, so a case study, a service or a team member each has the layout it needs.

We set up the CMS and show your team how to use it as part of our website development service.

How does Webflow help with SEO and search engine optimisation?

Webflow gives you editable titles, descriptions and alt text, an automatic sitemap, 301 redirects and clean markup. It doesn't decide your content or structure. That's our job, and we check the result in Search Console.

Will we lose our Google rankings?

We can't promise that, and nobody honest can. Google says to expect temporary fluctuation during a move. We map every WordPress URL, including categories and tags, to a Webflow page with a permanent redirect and check Search Console daily for two weeks.

Why only Webflow or Astro, and not another WordPress host?

We only move sites off WordPress, to Webflow or Astro, whichever suits the site. If you'd rather stay on WordPress, we can suggest agencies who work with it.

What happens to our plugins?

We list every plugin and match it to a Webflow feature, a small embed or 'not needed any more'. You see the list, and any extra running cost, before you agree to the plan. If a plugin does something nothing covers, the plan says so.

Do our blog comments come across?

WordPress exports comments in its file. Whether they come across depends on what you want on Webflow: an archive, a comments tool, or none. We agree that in the plan.

Should it be Webflow or Astro?

If your team edits pages every week, Webflow. If the site needs pages built from data, forms straight into your own systems or content kept in Git, Astro. We'll say which fits yours on the first call.

How long does it take?

A WordPress to Webflow migration used to take months. Now it can take weeks, or even days. The biggest factor is how quickly your team can review the work and give feedback. You'll see the timeline in the written plan before we start.

Rather write it down?
