The Client

Sector7 is a high-level tech consultancy. They do one thing and they do it well - they rescue companies from ancient, complex legacy systems (think OpenVMS) and drag them into the modern world of Linux and the cloud.

The Brief

Sector7 needed a full digital transformation. Their website was ... outdated. It had a poor user experience, looked like it was from 1995, and wasn't generating any leads.

They asked us to rebuild a new one focused on getting them qualified leads.

The Approach

We did a full analysis of their old site, their users, and their competitors. The strategy was simple:

  1. Make the UX not terrible.
  2. Make it work on a phone (a "mobile-first" concept).
  3. Actually ask for the conversion.

We built a modern design with clean navigation, made it fast, and streamlined the user journey. We added clear calls-to-action and a professional brand that finally matched their level of expertise.

Technical Implementation

Sector7 got the works: our full website design/development and our tech/tracking services. Here's the breakdown:

  • Brand Identity Refinement: We updated their brand guidelines, visual style, and tone of voice to sound like the "leading technology consultancy" they are.
  • Enhanced User Experience: We did the proper UX research (journey mapping, wireframing) and built an intuitive site structure. No more guessing where to click.
  • Mobile Optimisation: We built it with responsive design. The site now works on a phone and it's fast.
  • Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO): We strategically designed CTAs and simplified their lead forms to actually get people to fill them out.
  • Technical Optimisation: We rebuilt the site on a modern stack, laser-focused on page speed (Core Web Vitals). We also implemented a full 301 redirect map to make sure we didn't destroy their existing SEO value.
  • SEO Framework: We did a full SEO audit and keyword research, mapping target keywords to the new site structure. All new titles, metas, and headers were optimised for search.
  • Data & Server-Side Tracking: This is our specialty. We built a robust data layer and implemented Server-Side Tagging (SST) via GTM. This bypasses browser junk, centralises data, and makes their tracking accurate and compliant.

Results & Impact

  • 65% increase in new users
  • 77% increase in returning users
  • 58% increase in organic traffic
  • Average engagement per active user went from 0 seconds to 12 seconds.
  • They actually started getting online inquiries. Their form was broken before the rebuild. They were getting zero leads. Now, the tap is on.

Why It Worked

The project was a massive success because we fixed the tech and the user journey at the same time. It came down to three things:

  • Eliminating Critical Friction: The biggest win? We made the site work. The old site was broken (0-second engagement, non-working forms) that visitors were leaving instantly. By fixing the forms, speeding up the site, and adding a logical structure, we stopped the bleeding.
  • An SEO-First Technical Build: We built this thing to be found. The 301 redirect map saved their existing SEO, and the new keyword mapping and Core Web Vitals focus are what drove that 58% spike in organic traffic. We got them the right visitors.
  • Fixing the Whole Vibe: A modern brand identity built trust. A clean, mobile-friendly UX removed all the psychological barriers. And the smart CRO (clear CTAs, simple forms) gave that new, high-quality traffic an easy path to convert.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the case study

What are the limitations of SEMrush and when should you consider alternatives?

While SEMrush is comprehensive, it has certain limitations and may not be the best fit for every business depending on specific needs, budget, and use cases.

Potential limitations include:

  • Higher cost compared to some specialized single-purpose tools
  • Data accuracy can vary by region and industry
  • Learning curve for new users with complex interface
  • Limited social media analysis compared to dedicated social tools
  • Some features may be overkill for small businesses
  • API limitations for custom integrations

Our strategy consulting helps evaluate whether SEMrush fits your specific needs or if alternative tools might provide better value for your marketing objectives and budget.

What are the key differences between Figma and other design tools like Sketch or Adobe XD?

Figma stands out through its cloud-based architecture and comprehensive collaboration features that make it superior for team-based design work and modern product development.

Key advantages over alternatives:

  • Cloud-based platform accessible from any device or operating system
  • Real-time multiplayer collaboration vs single-user editing
  • Integrated developer handoff tools and code generation
  • Built-in whiteboarding (FigJam) and presentation tools
  • AI-powered design assistance and automation features
  • No need for separate prototyping tools or plugins

We choose Figma for our design projects because it enables seamless collaboration with clients and ensures consistent design implementation across all team members.

How do you stay compliant with Google's advertising policies?

Google Ads policy compliance is essential for maintaining account health and avoiding disapprovals, suspensions, or bans that can severely impact your advertising efforts. Our paid marketing service includes ongoing policy compliance monitoring and account management to keep your Google Ads campaigns running smoothly and effectively.

What is the difference between impressions, clicks, and CTR in Search Console?

Impressions show how many times your pages appeared in search results, clicks show user visits to your website, CTR is the percentage conversion rate, and Average Position shows your ranking performance for specific queries.

What makes Pacing.Agency’s approach to content and SEO different?

We blend data driven audience segmentation, our team of expert content creaters and your market knowledge to create content that resonates with your audience. If your audience engage and share that content, we know your site will rank. Build authority and trust in your space and clients will come.

How do Meta advertising platforms differ from Google Ads?

Meta advertising focuses on interest-based and demographic targeting across social platforms, while Google Ads targets intent-based searches, creating complementary approaches for comprehensive marketing strategies.

Key differences include:

  • Social discovery vs search intent targeting
  • Visual and video-first creative formats vs text-based ads
  • Interest and behaviour targeting vs keyword targeting
  • Brand awareness and engagement focus vs direct response
  • Younger demographics vs broader age ranges
  • Social proof through likes, shares, and comments

Our paid marketing service combines Meta and Google Ads for comprehensive audience coverage and optimal campaign performance.

What are the performance and system requirements for running Photoshop efficiently?

Adobe Photoshop demands significant system resources for optimal performance, especially when working with large files and complex operations common in professional marketing work.

Recommended system specifications include:

  • 16GB+ RAM (32GB recommended for large file work)
  • Dedicated graphics card with 4GB+ VRAM for GPU acceleration
  • Fast SSD storage for scratch disk and file access
  • Multi-core processor (8+ cores recommended)
  • Calibrated monitor for accurate colour representation
  • Regular software updates for performance and security

Our technical infrastructure recommendations include proper workstation setup to ensure Photoshop performance doesn't become a bottleneck in creative workflows.

What’s the difference between on-page and off-page SEO?

On-page SEO refers to optimising elements on your website, so we're talking content, meta tags, internal links. Off-page SEO is about building your site’s authority through backlinks, social signals, and partnerships. Think on-page is the content you create and off-page is when it's being shared.

How do you integrate Adobe Photoshop into modern marketing workflows?

Integrating Photoshop into modern marketing workflows requires strategic coordination with other design tools and platforms to maximize efficiency while maintaining creative quality. The key is treating Photoshop as part of a larger creative ecosystem rather than a standalone tool.

Integration strategies include:

  • Asset creation in Photoshop with export to collaborative platforms
  • Integration with Creative Cloud for seamless file sharing
  • Workflow coordination between Photoshop and web design tools
  • Version control and approval processes for complex image work
  • Automated export and optimization for different marketing channels
  • Team collaboration through Creative Cloud Libraries and shared assets

We integrate Photoshop with Figma workflows and team communication systems to ensure complex image work enhances rather than delays our ongoing client projects.
