What it does
Cursor is a code editor built on VS Code with AI models inside it. You ask for a change in plain English and it reads the project, writes the code, and edits as many files as the change needs. You see the changes as they happen.
Where the time goes
- Clear-cut jobs. Fixes, small features, refactors and docs go to a Cursor agent. It works on its own branch and opens a pull request while you do something else.
- Routine checks. On the 1st of every month, a scheduled Cursor job checks the docs in 14 of our repositories against their code and opens a pull request for anything that's drifted.
- Questions about the code. You can ask it how something works in a project instead of reading every file.
What we've built with it
The TechStack Analyser, our Markdown viewer and our docs hub were built in Cursor on our own rules, and the journey analysers we've built use it too.
The catch
AI-written code still needs a person to read it, test it and own it. If nobody checks, a faster editor just means faster mistakes. That's why we split the work: Claude Code plans and reviews, Cursor's agents build the clear-cut parts, and a person decides what goes live.

How does Cursor handle code security and privacy concerns?
Cursor has a Privacy Mode and says that when it's on, it won't train on your data. It also says it holds a SOC 2 Type II attestation. Your code still goes to AI model providers to get answers, so the settings, the secrets and the review process around it matter too.
